10 Best Skincare Brands for Kids in India (2026): ado and 9 Others, Ages 7–17
ado's three-step routine for ages 7–17 first, then nine other kids' skincare brands sold in India, from their own websites.
Facts checked on 1 October 2026. We make ado, so we're not neutral: every fact about another brand comes from its own website on that date. Spotted something out of date? Email hi@adoskin.com

Quick answer
ado comes first because we make it: one gentle routine for ages 7–17, with an oat face wash, a daily moisturiser and a mineral SPF 50+ sunscreen whose only UV filter is zinc oxide, or all three in the ₹2,699 Tween's Kit. The other nine: Cetaphil, Hey Teen, Little Rituals, Mamaearth, Mother Sparsh, Tikitoro, Tuco Kids, Whimsy and YPlayZ.
ado makes the three gentle basics most children aged 7–17 need, in one routine: a mild oat face wash, a light daily moisturiser and a mineral SPF 50+ sunscreen whose only UV filter is zinc oxide. That short list is what good kids' skincare looks like: the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) advises a gentle cleanser, a moisturiser and daily broad-spectrum sunscreen for tweens and teens, and no retinol, vitamin C or exfoliating acids.
ado is an Indian skincare brand made for kids, tweens and teens aged 7–17: a gentle oat face wash, a daily moisturiser and a zinc oxide SPF 50+ sunscreen, also sold together as the Tween's Kit. It comes first on this list because we make it. Brands 2 to 10 follow in alphabetical order, each with a few facts from its own website: Cetaphil, Hey Teen, Little Rituals, Mamaearth, Mother Sparsh, Tikitoro, Tuco Kids, Whimsy and YPlayZ.
We make ado, so we're not neutral. Facts about the other nine brands come from their own websites, checked on 1 October 2026; ado's come from our labels. Prices are the MRP shown that day, before offers (for ado, the price on our product page). Cetaphil's India site doesn't show prices, so none is given for it. Spotted something out of date? 1. ado: why do parents choose it for ages 7–17?
Parents choose ado for a mineral SPF 50+ sunscreen, one routine that runs from age 7 to 17, and short labels they can read in full. Here are the facts behind each point.
- SPF 50+ with zinc oxide as the only UV filter. Of the ten brands in this guide, checked on 1 October 2026, ado's is the only SPF 50+ sunscreen whose ingredient list shows zinc oxide as the sole UV filter. Tikitoro's zinc-oxide-only sunscreens are SPF 30, and Whimsy's sunscreen pages don't list their UV filters, so we couldn't check it. India's sunscreen consensus, PRISM-ISF (2025), says a sunscreen with inorganic filters like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide "is preferred over any other sunscreen" for children.
- More margin when children apply too little. PRISM-ISF notes that "SPF protection is directly linked to the quantity applied", and that most people apply 0.5–1.5 mg/cm² instead of the 2 mg/cm² used in testing, "which greatly reduces effectiveness". A higher SPF leaves more room for error on a rushed school morning. That doesn't make SPF 30 unsafe: PRISM-ISF's minimum for children over six months is SPF 15+.
- One routine from 7 to 17. Of the ten brands here, ado is the one whose face wash, moisturiser and sunscreen all state the same 7-to-17 age range. Whimsy's products say 4–16, Tuco Kids covers 3 to 15, Tikitoro splits into Kids (4–10) and Teens (11–16) ranges, and YPlayZ into 4–10 and 11–18. With ado, a 9-year-old and a 15-year-old can share the same three tubes.
- 100 mL tubes. All three ado products come in 100 mL tubes, so brothers and sisters can share one set. Each brand's pack sizes are in its own section below.
- No adult actives. The range has no retinoids, no exfoliating acids and no vitamin C serums. The AAD says those ingredients target "issues that children don't have", and a 2026 viewpoint in the Indian Journal of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology (IJDVL) calls them "entirely superfluous for pre-adolescent skin".
- Labels you can read in full. Every ado product page shows the full ingredient list, and our ingredients page explains each one. All three products are paraben-free and phthalate-free. The face wash is also sulfate-free and dye-free. The face wash and sunscreen are labelled non-comedogenic, which means they're formulated not to clog pores. ado is made in India in a GMP- and ISO-certified facility, and it's cruelty-free.
What's in the ado routine, and what does it cost?
The ado routine is three steps: cleanse, moisturise, protect. Each product comes in a 100 mL tube, and there's oat in every step.
- Gentle Oat Face Wash (₹849, 100 mL). A gentle gel face wash (or facewash) with coconut-derived cleansers and oat kernel extract. It has a soft lather and doesn't strip the skin. It's sulfate-free (including SLS-free), dye-free, paraben-free and phthalate-free.
- Daily Moisturiser (₹949, 100 mL). A lightweight, non-greasy gel-cream moisturiser (moisturizer) with glycerin, squalane and oat kernel flour (colloidal oatmeal). It's pH balanced and helps skin hold on to moisture.
- Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50+ (₹1,499, 100 mL). Zinc oxide is the only UV filter, and it's labelled broad spectrum SPF 50+ (UVA/UVB). It also contains oat kernel flour (colloidal oatmeal) and has a lightweight, non-greasy finish. No PA rating is stated; it's labelled broad spectrum (UVA/UVB).
- Tween's Kit (₹2,699). All three products together, ₹598 less than buying them separately (₹3,297). Despite the name, it's for the whole 7–17 range.
On a school day, the routine takes a few minutes:
- Morning: wash with the face wash, pat dry and apply the moisturiser.
- Before leaving: apply the sunscreen generously as the last step, 15 minutes before going out. Dot it on the forehead, cheeks and nose, then blend outwards.
- During the day: reapply at least every 2 hours outdoors, and straight after swimming, sweating or towel drying, for example before PE or cricket practice. A tube in the school bag makes this easy. The sunscreen makes no water-resistance claim, so reapply after every swim.
- Evening: wash off the day's sunscreen and sweat with the face wash, then moisturise.
Good to know: ado's products contain fragrance (it's the last ingredient on each label). If your child has eczema, very sensitive skin or reacts to fragrance, patch-test first or choose a fragrance-free option.
What makes kids' skincare good? 6 checks
Good kids' skincare is simple and gentle, and you can check it on the label. These six checks come from the AAD, the AAP, the IJDVL and India's PRISM-ISF sunscreen consensus; under each, we say where ado stands.
- A gentle cleanser. The AAD recommends a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser, and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) suggests avoiding sulfates such as sodium lauryl sulfate. ado's face wash uses coconut-derived cleansers and is sulfate-free.
- A light moisturiser. The AAD says moisturising regularly matters, and the AAP suggests a gel for oily or acne-prone skin and a light cream for dry skin. ado's moisturiser is a lightweight gel-cream.
- A broad-spectrum sunscreen, preferably mineral. PRISM-ISF advises a broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 15 for children over six months, reapplied every 2 hours or more often when sweating or swimming, and prefers inorganic filters for children. The AAP also suggests zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. ado's sunscreen is broad spectrum SPF 50+ with zinc oxide as its sole UV filter.
- No adult actives. Retinol, vitamin C and exfoliating acids aren't needed at this age, the AAD says. ado's range has none of them.
- A stated age range. The AAD's dermatologist says it's important to choose "age-appropriate products". Every ado product is made for ages 7 to 17.
- A full ingredient list, checked for fragrance. A full list is how you spot actives and fragrance. The AAP lists fragrances among cleanser ingredients to avoid, the AAD suggests a fragrance-free moisturiser, and the IJDVL names fragrances among common allergens in products promoted to children. ado publishes every full list, and all three products list fragrance as the last ingredient, so see the patch-test advice above.

What skincare does your child need at each age?
The same three ado steps work from 7 to 17. What changes is how much help your child needs, and how much sweat and oil there is to wash off. For a year-by-year plan, see skincare by age, 7 to 17.
Ages 7–9
Use the face wash, moisturiser and sunscreen in the morning, and the face wash and moisturiser at night. At this age, a parent helping with sunscreen before school, PE and outdoor play makes sure it goes on evenly. Our hub on skincare for kids aged 7–9 and our guide to sunscreen for a 9-year-old have more.
Ages 10–12
Puberty often begins around these years: KidsHealth (Nemours) says most girls start between 8 and 13 and most boys between 9 and 14, and the hormones involved bring body odour and acne. It's normal for tweens to be curious about skincare, the AAD says, but adding too many products or harsh ingredients too early can cause irritation. ado's three steps give a tween a routine of their own, without serums or actives. See our hub on skincare for tweens (10–12), the routines for a 10-year-old and a 12-year-old, and our list of skincare for tweens in India.
Ages 13–17
Hormonal changes often increase oil, which can lead to blackheads and breakouts, according to the AAD. Keep the gentle basics going morning and evening. ado's face wash and sunscreen are labelled non-comedogenic. For regular breakouts, the AAD says salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide may help, and a dermatologist can advise; ado is gentle daily care, not an acne treatment. See our hub on skincare for teens (13–17), the routine for a 13-year-old, pimples at 13 and our list of skincare for teenagers in India.
See a dermatologist if breakouts leave dark marks or scars, or haven't improved after a few months of over-the-counter care (the AAD's advice), or if any product causes a rash, burning or swelling that doesn't settle once you stop it.
