ado is an Indian skincare brand made for kids, tweens and teens aged 7–17: a gentle oat face wash, a daily moisturiser and a mineral zinc oxide SPF 50+ sunscreen. Below: why parents choose ado, what's in each tube, and a short, factual note on what Tikitoro makes.

Why do parents choose ado over Tikitoro?
Parents choose ado for a higher SPF, bigger tubes and one routine that runs all the way to 17. Here are the facts behind each point, from our labels and Tikitoro's own pages.
- SPF 50+, against SPF 30. ado's sunscreen is labelled broad spectrum SPF 50+ (UVA/UVB); Tikitoro's Kids and Teens sunscreens are SPF 30. SPF 30 meets the SPF 30 or higher that the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) suggests, so it is not unsafe. The difference is margin. India's sunscreen consensus, PRISM-ISF (2025), says "SPF protection is directly linked to the quantity applied", and that most people apply 0.5–1.5 mg/cm² instead of the 2 mg/cm² regulators recommend. A higher SPF leaves more room for error when a child applies too little. Our guide to SPF 30 vs SPF 50 for kids explains more.
- Mineral, with zinc oxide as the only UV filter. Zinc oxide is the only active ingredient on ado's sunscreen label. For children, PRISM-ISF says "a sunscreen containing inorganic filters, like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, is preferred over any other sunscreen", and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) suggests a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ mineral sunscreen for tweens and teens. Tikitoro's sunscreens also use zinc oxide alone; ado pairs it with SPF 50+.
- A third more sunscreen per tube. ado's sunscreen tube holds 100 mL; each Tikitoro sunscreen holds 75 ml. Applied generously every morning and again at school, sunscreen runs out fast, so a bigger tube means fewer trips to re-buy.
- Twice the moisturiser per tube. ado's Daily Moisturiser comes in a 100 mL tube; Tikitoro's Kids and Teens Hydrating Face Creams come in 50 g (the units differ slightly). ado's face wash is 100 mL too, so all three steps come in the same size.
- One range from 7 to 17. Tikitoro labels its ranges Kids 4–10 and Teens 11–16, so a 17-year-old is outside its stated ages, and a 9-year-old and a 13-year-old need different products. ado's three tubes are made for every age from 7 to 17, so brothers and sisters of 8 and 14 can share them. Our hubs for tweens (10–12) and teens (13–17) go age by age.
- Oat in every step. The face wash has oat kernel extract. The moisturiser and sunscreen have oat kernel flour (colloidal oatmeal), which helps soothe.
What's in ado's three-step routine?
ado's routine is three 100 mL tubes: cleanse, hydrate, protect. Mornings use all three; evenings use the face wash and moisturiser.
- Gentle Oat Face Wash, ₹849. A gel face wash with coconut-derived cleansers and oat kernel extract. It's sulfate-free, dye-free and non-comedogenic, meaning it's formulated not to clog pores, and its soft lather cleans without stripping.
- Daily Moisturiser, ₹949. A lightweight, non-greasy gel-cream with glycerin, squalane and oat kernel flour (colloidal oatmeal). It's pH balanced and helps skin hold on to moisture after a wash.
- Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50+, ₹1,499. A lightweight, non-greasy, non-comedogenic sunscreen in which zinc oxide is the only UV filter. It is always the last morning step.
On a school day that looks like this: wash, moisturise and apply sunscreen before the bus, then wash and moisturise again after tuition or evening practice. Buying all three as the Tween's Kit costs ₹2,699, which is ₹598 less than buying them separately (₹3,297). A 9-year-old and a 15-year-old use exactly the same steps, so one kit on the bathroom shelf can serve both.
How does ado's sunscreen work for school and sport?
Apply it generously as the last morning step, then reapply at least every 2 hours and straight after swimming, sweating or towel drying. The label makes no water-resistance claim, so for PE, cricket practice or swimming class the plan is simply to reapply.
Put it on 15 minutes before your child is out in the sun, whether that's the bus stop or morning assembly. Dot it on the forehead, cheeks and nose, then blend outwards. Use a generous layer, because SPF depends on how much goes on. The AAP gives the same advice for any sunscreen: reapply every 2 hours, and after swimming, sweating or drying off with a towel.
The label says broad spectrum (UVA/UVB). No PA rating is stated; PA is a grade some brands use for UVA protection, the rays behind tanning. The finish is lightweight and non-greasy. Our sunscreen guide for Indian parents covers how much to use, and mineral vs chemical sunscreen for kids explains how filters differ.
What does ado leave out?
ado leaves out parabens and phthalates in all three products, plus sulfates and dyes in the face wash. There are no adult actives either: no retinoids, no exfoliating acids and no vitamin C serums.
That's deliberate. The AAD says that before a tween or teen uses a retinoid or salicylic acid, it's important to first consult a board-certified dermatologist. ado sticks to everyday basics: cleanse, hydrate, protect. For regular breakouts, a dermatologist is the right first stop; our guide to pimples at 13 explains what helps.
What does go in is printed in full. Every product page shows the complete ingredient list, and our ingredients page explains each one. ado's products contain fragrance (it's the last ingredient on each label); if your child's skin is sensitive, patch-test first or choose a fragrance-free option. ado is made in India in a GMP- and ISO-certified facility, it's cruelty-free, and delivery is free across India.
What does Tikitoro make?
Tikitoro makes face, body and hair care in two ranges: Tikitoro Kids, for ages 4–10, and Tikitoro Teens, for ages 11–16. Its Kids and Teens Mineral Sunscreens are SPF 30 with PA+++, their ingredient lists show zinc oxide as the only UV filter, and each is ₹750 for 75 ml. Its Hydrating Face Creams are ₹475 for 50 g, and its Refreshing Face Wash is ₹350 for 100 ml.
