We don’t believe in magic ingredients. We believe in gentle, well-understood ones. Oat runs through every ado step (oat kernel extract in the face wash, colloidal oatmeal in the moisturiser and sunscreen), because oats have been used to soothe and protect skin for generations.
Built for growing skin
As puberty starts, oil glands become more active. Oat helps keep skin comfortable and moisturised without a heavy feel, so skin doesn’t need to be stripped to feel clean. ado’s face wash and sunscreen are non-comedogenic.
The Science: During puberty, hormonal changes make oil glands more active and skin often feels oilier. Colloidal oats contain lipids that help support the skin barrier without a greasy feel.
Growing skin deals with sweat, friction from sports and city pollution, which can leave it red and uncomfortable. Oats contain avenanthramides, natural antioxidants studied for their soothing, anti-itch properties.
The Science: Avenanthramides are antioxidants found in oats. Studies link them to calming redness and itch, which is why colloidal oatmeal has long been used in soothing skincare.
Growing skin can swing between oily and dry. Colloidal oatmeal helps skin hold on to moisture and supports the skin barrier, so it stays comfortable through the school day.
The Science: Colloidal oats contain lipids and polysaccharides that form a light protective film on the skin and help reduce water loss (TEWL), so the barrier can do its job.

SLS creates that satisfying, foamy lather found in many cleansers. It works, but it can work too well: it strips natural oils along with the dirt and can leave skin feeling tight. ado’s face wash is sulfate-free, with coconut-derived cleansers that clean without the stripping.
Some studies have raised questions about parabens, phthalates and certain chemical UV filters such as oxybenzone, and the science is still evolving. We chose to leave them out: all three ado products are free from parabens and phthalates, and the sunscreen’s only UV filter is zinc oxide.
Chemical filters such as oxybenzone and octinoxate absorb UV rays and turn them into heat. US FDA studies have found some of them in the bloodstream after use; the FDA says that doesn’t mean they’re unsafe, but it has asked for more data. For children, India’s sunscreen consensus (PRISM-ISF, 2025) prefers mineral filters, so ado’s sunscreen uses zinc oxide as its only UV filter.
Growing skin doesn’t need adult actives, so ado leaves them out and lists every ingredient.

So my team and I built three products, formulated from the ground up for the years that had been overlooked. A face wash that cleans without stripping. A moisturizer that hydrates without clogging. A sunscreen whose only UV filter is zinc oxide. Every ingredient was chosen not because it was trending, but because it was right for skin that is still growing into itself.

What began as a simple question — why isn’t there skincare made specifically for children and teens? — turned into years of research, formulation, and intention.
As a biotechnologist, I understood that growing skin behaves differently. It’s thinner, more delicate, and constantly changing. Yet most products available were either made for babies or adapted from adult skincare.
So we built ado differently.
